Finally, I am taking time to reflect on what an amazing time our annual Amtelco Healthcare Seminar was this year.
This was a year of firsts:
- Amtelco’s first year showcasing our rebranded name of Amtelco Healthcare, going all in on our roots as the only private, family-owned unified healthcare communications company 48 years in the making
- Unveiling the success our (cloud or on-premises) operator console system, provider scheduling, secure messaging, and AI solutions have had in healthcare
- JoEllen Graber coordinating her first-ever seminar event, which she knocked out of the park
- Moderating panel discussions about streamlining workflows across multi-hospital health systems and expanding into other impactful departments such as transfer centers, staff scheduling, and patient access, to name a few
Leading up to the event, there is always high anticipation about organizing it, making sure all attendees are taken care of, and forecasting responsibilities throughout the week (including who’s staying out late enough to buy Ian’s pizza—I volunteered, of course).
In years past, it has been so easy to focus on the tasks at hand, but this year was different, thanks to our keynote speaker, Chris Heeter. If you don’t know Chris, I encourage you to look her up. To not spoil anything, I’ll keep it short; she encourages you to keep things wild to truly get the best out of people. By wild, she means that you should lean into your own originality. Embrace the true you and see how it shapes the team you are a part of. For leaders, it means allowing your team to let their light shine and to figure the best direction to point it in.
Starting with this notion helped everyone let their guard down. Personally, it allowed me to be my genuine self when networking with partners, prospects and peers, especially while moderating panel discussions with panelists I greatly admire in the healthcare space. I saw the same thing in others, and it created such a collaborative atmosphere that transcended the normality of conversations you tend to see at other healthcare conferences. People networked with a purpose.
We had healthcare systems representing a total of 100+ hospitals across the country and they came with real, captivating examples of how they’re leveraging our software in their respective organizations. It was the perfect opportunity for us to share everything we’ve developed since last year spanning contact centers, provider scheduling, critical notifications, hosted migrations, artificial intelligence, alarm management, and more.
Like all years, we focused on celebrating our superusers, the unsung heroes of hospitals. They manage the virtual front door of your health system. They are the ones who manage and dispatch your most critical notifications to ensure the right message gets to the right person at the right time. They help consolidate provider on-call schedules and directory databases so all information is up to date.
Whether you’re calling into the hospital to speak with a loved one, or you’re a patient needing immediate attention, our superusers are an integral part of your patient experience, and they take that to heart. We take that to heart alongside them, year after year.
Here’s to everything we can accomplish together to create a more efficient communication environment within healthcare systems between now and Amtelco Healthcare Seminar 2025. See you then!
